A Divine Invitation
Hello OFS Family, The holy month of Shravan is upon us, and with it comes a very
special pooja: the Shiv Parthiveshwar Pooja. Have you heard of it? The name might
sound unfamiliar, but trust me, this pooja is all about connecting with the divine in a
unique and powerful way.

What is Shiv Parthiveshwar?
“Parthiveshwar” means “Lord of the Earth,” and this pooja celebrates that essence. We
create a Shivlingsymbolic of Lord Shivaout of earth, reminding us that Shivas divine
energy is present everywhere, even in the ground beneath our feet! According to ancient
scriptures, the Shivling represents Shivas infinite, formless nature. A legend tells of gods
and demons struggling to measure the divine, only to realize its incomprehensibility,
giving rise to the Shivling as its symbol. This pooja is a journey back to this ancient
wisdom.

• Join us at our home-turned-office for the pooja, where we set up a simple altar with
earthen Shivlings, handmade by our brahmins using mud and clay, adhering to the
specific design of each tithi during Shravan.
